Lemonade stand gather round! It’s been some time, but you know I had to open up the Lemonade stand up for my classmate and rapper Lady London. Known for her lyricism and wit, the Tri state rapper came by the Lemonade stand to talk tour life as she opens for budding R&B Barbie Coco Jones. As most people would say, Howard University Bison can be unbearable…Well that’s exactly what we were! We both shared our experiences at the Mecca as well as reflected on our time in D.C. as we approach almost a decade since we graduated. Lemonade Stand gather round! It’s been a while but I’m back to bring you some good Lemonade. I talked to Hollywood veterans Richard Lawson and Debbi Morgan about their new Netflix series “Beauty is Black.” The actors discusses their latest roles and gives a little lemonade about what we can expect from their characters. I also asked both actors about working with Tyler Perry. Debbi shares a beautiful story about Tyler affirming his stars for this movie. To hear about this special moment watch the full interview. Lemonade stand get into this! Summer 614 so graciously let us set up the stand at their festival. We had a legend pull up to the Summer 614 Lemonade lounge to spill. Scarface named one of the greatest MC’s of all time, stopped by and gave me hell EVERY step of the way, but we had a time. Watch has the Houston rapper shares why he’s doesn’t care to really be a part of hip hop in its current state. Scarface also had a pretty interesting take on rap beef…He definitely didn’t hold back. Bobby Valentino pulled up to the Summer 614 Lemonade Lounge! First and foremost he performed his tail off! Secondly, he spilled on his longevity in the business and how he’s built a over two decade career. You know I had to ask about RSVP (Ray J, Sammie, Bobby V, and Pleasure P) and what happened to the R&B group that was supposed to be formed after the infamous Versez battle. You’ll have to find watch to find out. The “Slow down” singer has worked with Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Timbaland, and more. After all those legends, who does Bobby want to work with in 2024! Lemonade stand gather round, we had singer Chrisette Michele pull up to the Summer 614 lounge! Chrisette was one of the first interviews I did in my college radio career. A lot of things have changed since then for me and her! The ‘Couple of forevers’ singer spilled on her divorce and how she’s ready to share that pain with her fans through her music. She shared with me her evolution to get to that point. Now we all know almost a decade ago Chrisette found herself catching a lot of backlash from the culture for performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration in 2016. Ro talked about finally getting out of his previous record deal and navigating being an independent artist after also a decade of being signed. The ‘Permission’ singer talked about his hit record and how after 8 years still has him booked, busy, and traveling the world. I talked to up in coming rapper Skylar Blatt, best known for her new single with Chris Brown called “Wake Up.” The Ohio based rapper came to the stand to spill on how her and Chris Brown connected and made a record. Skylar discusses Chris Brown keeping a months long promise to get the record to come to fruition. Skylar also talked about Meek Mill giving her recognition in the earlier parts of her career and the industry love she’s received since then. The Cincinnati rapper also talked about her harder upbringing in Ohio and how that shaped her as an artist. Lemonade stand let’s support newcomer Skylar Blatt! What a fine day at the Lemonade Stand. Luke James and Jacob Latimore stopped by to talk Season 6 of the “The Chi.” The stars poured up a good glass about their roles and how this season stretched them as actors. We also talked about the preparation for this season. We dived into Luke’s incredible performance in “Them,” I smell award season with Luke’s name on it.
